Silver Strand Beach declared Alcohol Free during Labor Day weekend

August 17th, 2008 Posted in City of Coronado, Coronado Beaches, Coronado News

In an attempt to avoid a repeat of the 4th of July weekend, California State Parks officials have imposed a temporary alcohol ban from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1, at the Silver Strand State Beach Park.  . However, the ban doesn’t apply to about 130 campsites, mostly RV parking spots, at the north end of the state park.

Silver Strand State Beach is the last public beach in San Diego County where alcohol is still allowed on the beach.  Coronado residents and the City of Coronado are pushing for a permanent ban, hopefully in the near future.
