Jacaranda Trees are in bloom!
May 27th, 2008 Posted in Coronado NewsJacaranda Trees are spectacular this year! Coming over the bridge you can see canopies of purple trees all over Coronado. Jacaranda trees can reach heights of 50-60 feet with a canopy almost as wide. The flowers are a brilliant bluish-purple. Native to native to tropical and subtropical regions of South and Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, jacarandas typically bloom in May and June in Southern California, brightening up gray days.
