CORONADO - Voters here have decided they want a service building for lifeguards on the beach. With all precincts reporting, Proposition A, a citizens initiative that would have stopped the project, was failing 53 percent to 47 percent, according to unofficial results from the county Registrar of Voters.   The initiative would have allowed voters to decide whether they wanted any new lifeguard facilities, restrooms and bike paths at the beach.

Unofficial results also showed Proposition B, a related measure sponsored by the city, won handily, leading with 68 percent of the votes. The measure asked voters to approve the lifeguard service building if Proposition A passed.   With Proposition A failing, the service building will be built, city officials said, perhaps as early as the end of the year.   Read on………..
