Coronado Museum Opens Exhibit “PUBLIC EYE: A Focus on Community Art”
Art in public spaces has a tradition in San Diego and a new exhibit at the Coronado Museum of History and Art opened July 3, 2008, and displays examples of current projects from Coronado’s and San Diego’s collections of public art. This exhibit will be on view through mid-November, 2008. Through colorful and imaginative models, photographs and sculptured pieces, visitors will have the opportunity to see a sample of the variety of pieces, some commissioned, which have been on display in our community. This exhibit features a creatively decorative bench from the 2003 Benchmark project and information on some of Coronado’s 38 pieces of public art.
